UMM Team Invites NASA's Gen Z SMAGA to Prepare to Become the Golden Generation of 2045

More than 750 students from SMAN 3 Madiun (SMAGA NASA) in East Java participated in a seminar organized by a team of lecturers from University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The agenda, which was held on January 23, aimed to inspire and motivate them to achieve success. Especially considering that the students will continue the leadership and responsibility of the nation in the future. 

“This seminar serves as a way of shaping young people who have a hardworking mentality, not just relying on convenience,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Noor Harini, the team leader.

He emphasized, success does not come easily, but must be achieved with hard work, optimism, and high ideals as well as being able to show themselves that they are not strawberry genes falling easily. There are several factors that can affect student character such as internal factors (instinct, habit/custom, will, conscience, heredity) and external factors (education and environment). 

By having these factors, students are expected to become the next generation of smart, innovative, peaceful, healthy, and superior civilization. Prof. Noor also reminded the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. “A healthy diet is not only important for a strong body, but also for a smart brain that is ready to compete in the future,” he added.

There are five things that factor into the formation of good character. These include attitude, emotion, habit and will. By paying attention to these five things, the next generation can easily achieve success in the future. Furthermore, the values of discipline and honesty are also important points that should not be underestimated. “Discipline is the main key to achieving goals. Without discipline, dreams will also be difficult to achieve and honesty not only builds trust, but also maintains personal and social integrity for the wider community,” he said. 

Meanwhile, another speaker Prof. Dr. Ir. Achmad Wahyudi shared his views on the challenges faced by the younger generation in pursuing higher education. Choosing a major must be wise and in accordance with personal interests and potential, so that it can determine a brighter future. He also emphasized that it is important to consider the needs of the world of work in the future. Then as the next generation, it is important to have an innovative and creative nature, be knowledgeable, educated and have high-tech skills.

“Higher education is not just about theory, but how we prepare ourselves to contribute to society,” he emphasized.

There are strategies that can be applied in order to achieve success. It starts from being forced, then forced, to get used to it, and finally forming a culture. By applying this, students are expected to become successful people in the future. With the spirit of hard work, strong character, and high ideals, they are expected to be part of the Golden Generation 2045 who are ready to contribute to advancing Indonesia. (*/wil/ind)
